Sadly the iPhone is going to be taking priority for Verizon in the month of February so either they agreed to apple's demands or they simply don't want to cut into or don't care about Android sales. Regardless its a bad move by Verizon and they should recognize that customers will make choices even if it means leaving them for another carrier. But dragging our launches to appease Job's is not a smart move from the loyal Android base.
Its better to do one major thing at a time.
Keep in mind that the thunderbolt is a 4G device. Verizon is trying to slowly ramp up usage on the 4G network, as its a new network. Thats why they chose to go with usb 4G devices for laptops first.
Verizon as a company is very focused on reliability and the last thing they want is a flood of people complaining about 4g issues while they need to sell iphones.
I'm looking forward to the thunderbolt also, but you have to agree that the iphone has been a long time coming. There are a lot of people waiting for it and it only makes sense that they would allocate some time for the iphone to be released, without anything else major going on.
Besides, who says that they are intentionally pushing back the thunderbolts release? It could just be that HTC wont be ready with enough units by then.
the iphone will never be obselete its a name and people will always buy it no matter what is in it. It's just how people are. apple likes to wait and have alot of testing before they release anything (ex. 3g,4g)
