Help On which carriers can the Virgin Mobile Triumph be used?

Lurker
Regarding the Virgin Mobile Motorola Triumph, I'd like to know on which other carriers can it used? I read about people using it on Sprint and Metro PCS, are there any others.

Also What needs to be done to the phone in order for it to be used on other carriers?

Thanks in advance for any info provided.

I would love to know if this is possible. I'd like to give my wife my Triumph (she has Sprint) and make the jump to Ting for me.

Legally only companies that will flash it so maybe Cricket and Metro if they flash phones. You can always ask them and see. I know for a fact that it won't work on Sprint, Verison, or any other carrier that won't flash it to their network, at least not legally and I'm not going to go into further details about that. But you can see if Cricket or Metro can.

Legally? More like they don't want to. The carriers in the good old U.S.A. would be able sell as many phones if they did.

I'm not saying that other companies can't. But they won't. Legally the company can do it, but if you mess with your esn yourself it's illegal. That's what I was talking about. Like if Verzion chose too I'm sure they could allow other phones to be flashed to their network, but they don't.

crickrt will flash the triumph total to flash activate and month of service is$140.00 here in memphis

I have the worst reception ever for VM (Sprint) in my apartment. I am pretty sure here in Los Angeles Cricket uses Sprint towers. Does anyone know for sure? I really wish there was a way to flash my Triumph to ANY other non Sprint affiliated carrier. Sigh... If anyone has any new info for this please post!

Doesn't cricket use their own towers? I could be mistaken, but i thought that they did.

:( From Wikipedia:
August 2010: Cricket and Sprint signed a five year wholesale agreement (MVNO) that allows Cricket to utilize Sprint's 3G network throughout the U.S. As part of the agreement, Cricket made commitments to deliver minimum levels of revenues to Sprint. Cricket will offer products and services using Sprint's 3G network coverage throughout August 2015.
