Once (sometimes twice) per day crash and reboot

Hey Folks,

The Prevail (about 11 months old and NON rooted) crashes about one time per day and reboots. It normally does this after texting or emailing...sometimes after using an app. It will vibrate a time or two, screen goes black but the 4 home keys/touch pads at the bottom of the screen light up and it reboots. Just like it would upon start up after the phone has been turned off for a while. It started doing this a couple weeks ago. No new apps have been added.

It just rebooted again after checking email. I noticed that it vibrated once, then THREE times really quickly and went dark. It rebooted right after that.

Ideas? Anyone else experience this?

I'm wondering if it's a hardware issue that might need to be addressed prior to the warranty running out.

I would try a factory reset, if it doesn't solve the problem, then i would go the warrantee route. ~10 day turnaround, free shipping both ways, generally a painless process :-)

Ive noticed, my prevail will reboot if the battery reaches 120 degrees internal temp
so you might want to look there

I get nervous if mine gets in the high 90's

I tether a lot these days and I avoid doing that while charging as much as possible, especially in the summer.

I do have a few batteries though and an external charger. Lol

i have and do all that too. the only time mine gets hot is when i talk to the wife at lunch on speaker for like 45 mins. it will get 110 + - but only then, otherwise 80-90.

Hi,

probably a dumb question, but where do you get the battery temerature from ?? That can't be an app, right ? Since it would need a sensor to check temp ?

Thanks,

vce

in your voltage control, mine is cpu master, and then in system info it tells that and more. now in voltage control not sure where. there are other apps that will tell you too.

Thanks guys,... I saw it now in Wireless Tether, but my version of Voltage Control does not show anything.....it's the one what came with CTMod3.68.....It's not the "extreme" version
