one-click root

is there a one-click root for this phone? one possibly that can also receive ota updates? i know there is one for my asus tablet, so i thought there may be a similar one for my phone.

If you're running the UCKH7/2.3.4 (Gingerbread) Firmware, yes.

If you're running the UCKK6/2.3.6 (Gingerbread) Firmware, no.

If you're running the UCLE5/4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Firmware, no.

it's what I did. I had 4.0.3, and rooted using this method.

can you unbrick the sg2?
also, it does not seem to work. found and applied the tar, and made sure pda was checked, and my phone was plugged in and in odin mode: <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)

First, make sure odin is done. then take the phone out of download mode and look in the settings:about phone. See what kernel you have. It might say Siyah. If so, you are rooted. And I haven't bricked a phone yet, but haven't been doing this more than a week, but there are ways to fix a bad flash. Do you think you bricked yours?

I don't want a new kernel, I just want to root the stock 4.0.3 that I got from Kies. Is there any way to do that?
