Root One step closer to Gingerbread ROMs

Yes i know this. But they suck. Any ROM based of off SDK alone will never be close to fully functional. I am referring to an actual daily use rom.

I have been following the current gingerbread roms but they are of course lacking.

I ran a ROM built from source on my Eris (Conaps) that was fully functional and far and above better than any of the AOSP ROMs including Cyanogens. It just takes time to work out the bugs. I'm sure the AOSP Ginerbread ROMs aren't going to be very stable either the first 5, 6 or more versions as the bugs get worked out.

Edit: My bad conaps was actually built from cyanogen source so maybe you're right about building from source and not AOSP.

I thought source and SDK are different. Source is what was announced today. Regardless, the ROM that exists currently is by no means a daily. It will take a few AOSP versions to get a bug free ROM but at least its a step in the right direction. Only so much can be done with the SDK
 
The INC only has one running ROM of Gingerbread thanks to r2doesinc on XDA and said won't be releasing another update until the source is released since then can be a daily ROM. so this is pretty sweet can't wait to see what comes.

From my understanding AOSP ROMs are built from source. AOSP can't do anything with it till Google offically releases the source code to them which is the agreement Cyanogen has with Google after they sued him.
Thats also why Gapps cannot be included in Cyanogen ROMs.
