One thing that has bothered me from day one

On the hardware keyboard when you long press it changes the language pack which to me is useless.

The other day I installed better keyboard so I can skin it to match my theme and I noticed that it changed the long press function of the hardware keyboard to scroll, which to me is also useless.

Does anyone know of a way to to change it to where long pressing changes the keyboard to its alternate function? (ie. long pressing Q gives you a 1).
