Help One way syncing for gmail ?

Hi

I've always been a bit confused by concept of sync'ing - how does one avoid a favoured Contacts list (e.g. phone) being replaced by the other sync'ed entries (gmail account).

Is there an easy way to push edited Contacts , Calenders etc. in one direction only ?

e.g if I use the phone as "master" Contacts, how do I get this replicated in my google account ?

I can't see an option in the phone to only sync in one direction.

thanks

I've been looking for a way to do this as well. Whenever I try to sync my Google contacts, it will totally mess up my primary phone ones -- duplicate names, some names over-written with just the last name (even those both first and last are visible in the detail view). Like you, I want to have my phone (HTC Vivid) be the master list and push anything new to Gmail.

Hopefully we can get an answer soon. I'm tired of having to re-create anew from my Outlook contacts.
