My paypal account is like yours, no credit card attached but I've linked my bank account to it and have already purchased stuff with it on eBay. Some sellers do prefer credit card backup on your paypal. I know this because the iTunes store won't let me create an account or buy music unless I have a paypal account with credit card.

In that case I would just get the PayPal debit card and have that linked to your account, then you be able to create an account on iTunes or other sites that requires a card to be linked to your account. It's like $4.95 a month for the card.

You can use Pay Pal on Radio Shack's site as well. Which I would recommend doing rather than VM.

If you return a bad phone to Radio Shack, they grab one from a shelf and replace it. If you send one back to VM, you might get a refurb back. Their record on refurbs isn't very good, I suspect they follow Fry's example of letting an item be returned 3 times before they label it bad.

You just have to raise hell with them and be adamant about what you expect. I received 6 class a replacement Triumphs in a 3 month period before I finally gave up. I actually filed a complaint with the BBB because I was forced to sell the phone at a loss. Executive Escalations called me a week later and made up the $75 loss by crediting my account plus gave me 2 months of compensation for my aggravation.
