I've even started getting the hang of the finger print sensor.. My only gripe is the lockscreen clock is ugly. Without theming there's no way to change it (that I know of)

Yeah doesn't that blow the always on/lock screen areas are like hands-off zones that us children are prohibited from customizing. Clock Apps should carry over to these also.

Go to the setting-Lockscreen and Security-Always on Display and make sure it's turned on. Then click on "Always on Display" and you can select sever different options.
