Opera Mini 5 Released!

By gosh the Mini is for Androids, and most else, and the Mobile is for those other two.

Didn't see that. Good job.

Opera mobile for android is still in development. Mini and mobile are 2 different creatures. I would expect to see mobile for android soon.

The lack of flash may have me hold off on Opera right now but I did like using it on my WinMo phone. Looking forward to the mobile version for Android.

I used Opera exclusively with WinMo, but I just don't seem to like the Opera Mini. Although Dolphin is growing on me. Caddyman is luring me to the darkside.

Yeah there isn't really much reason to get opera besides its fast the responsiveness to the touch is crappy I have to click on a link more than once just to get it to register when on dolphin is very responsive and has lots more options.

Dolphin has lots more options

i like in dolphin you can swipe right or left to skip to other tabs

opera has the edge in aestetics, it sure is pretty

in opera you can go full screen and you get just as much on screen as stock or dolphin browser

i like operas quick dial page, and the tab handling is nice, still wish i could swipe though

I'd like another factor of zoom in, having trouble click small buttons on some sites. Is this possible and I am missing it?

Played with Opera for a few hours and it very impressive for a work in progress. I have come to rely on my pinch zoom so it is back to xScope for now. With xScope you also have the excellent interaction with the developer.

I am becoming more and more fond of Opera... I didn't relize that it also has a cursor that is moveable with the track-ball. That makes things easier to click on... just wish it had the pinch zoom like the default browser and the double tap zoom like xScope. And im sure they will figure out that flash support is just a plugin and enable that as soon as more phones are capable of it.

Having used on previous WinMo phone, I was glad to see this available in the market this morning. Downloaded, and very pleased w/ the speed.

To customize, type opera:config in the browser URL field. ENJOY!

thanks. I don't see a user agent option though. :(

Is there a way to change it so sites see it as a true android phone?

Tried this and was hoping it was going to be different than the Opera 5 that has been available to RIM and unfortunatley its the same one. Seems like Dolphin works the best for me so far.

It does have double tap zoom...

Try xScope it has a little different zoom, you press twice in the same spot and hold you can slide the zoom around to make it whatever size you want until you let go... makes for zooming with one hand really easy!

Anyone with 2.1 having this issue? Only the stock browser is showing video links in blogs and other websites. Check out this site with your phone: Android App Review: xScope Browser | Droid Life: A Motorola Droid Blog and let me know if you see the youtube link embedded. Xscope AND Opera mini just has a blank window in the spot where the youtube still-grab should be. Also, has anyone tried to access youtube from Opera? It doesn't play the videos or prompt for which player to use.

I don't think the other browsers support flash. So ads and videos that use them aren't going to show up.
