Opera Mini 5 Released!

There are many sites Opera Mini doesn't show correctly. Try espn.com. Make sure you have mobile sites turned on. Compare the two in the stock browser and in Opera, they're completely different.

The only advantage I see that this has over the stock browser is page load speed, that's it. The interface takes up too much space, no pinch zoom, no flash, pages look funny sometimes, etc. I'll wait for Opera mobile.

This can be easily solved

Menu > Settings > Turn fullscreen on

I know that Opera runs websites through their own server to speed up downloading. Sometimes they change the look of a site to facilitate the faster downloads. But to not have something as basic as youtube. It seems that there would be a setting like one that Dolphin has where a dialogue to choose which player to use if Opera doesn't come with it's own. Technically, our stock browser has Flash Lite, not full-fledged flash rendering so some animated flash doesn't work on our stock browser either.

its REALLY fast...only thing is, i cannot find the close button to exit which means it will still run in background unless you force close via taskiller...not liking that, unless im blind and cannot see a close button...........

I'm using it on a HTC magic with only 192 Mb of RAM and it absolutely flies.

Pages load very fast and typing is really quick (I'm typing this reply from it now).

Also seems to be just as fast with multiple tabs open.

Loving it so far. Ajax support would be so great.

It is really fast. The page rendering is not near as good as, say, Dolphin (try news.google.com for an example), but the speed is great.

My favorite feature is bookmarks. Not only does it sync with desktop Opera, I also love the fact that you can not only have folders, but nested folders. Dolphin and the stock browser are far behind in this regard.

My only complaints are the fact that it can't be set as the default browser and that it doesn't have an exit button. I wish they would make it like Dolphin where you can hold back then have the option to clear cache and exit.

and there's no "Share Link" command that I can find (yes, I know, you can do the same via copy/paste, but it's less convenient)....hopefully, it's just something I haven't found yet.

Like the speed of the browser that part is undeniable. But!... there are a lot of sites that i visit oftenly that I can't view with Opera such as my Bank Account website which comes up with the error that the "browser is unsupported", also you can forget about going to youtube.com, browser doesn't support any videos there. I can see myself using Opera SOMETIMES, but the Stock browser is still going to be my main.

Yes there are some bugs, but its a BETA, so thats to be expected. I love this browser, its reallllly fast! Faster than any others on the market (I have used all of them). I cant wait for the full version!
