Operation Retrieve Bravo Info

MTNDroid - Good find but my goodness that has to be the most poorly written article. I could barely understand it.

Apple may have had Google drop Nexus One multi-touch | Electronista

Just found this link on the verizon android forum, hopefully it means the bravo/passion what ever the name will be is coming soon....Please.

Just when I couldn't hate Apple any more. Either it's patented or it's not. Companies need to stop tying up technology with vague patent language. It's ruining this country on many levels. Interesting that Vodafone's release date is close to the reported Mar 23rd Verizon date. What happened to Vodafone saying it would be released in a "few short weeks"? They said that a week and a half ago, and that was 10 weeks before Mar 23rd.

I received a reply to my request for specs... not too much to share I am affraid:

"I don't really know much about it yet... I am sure it is not going to
have much more then the droid does. The droid's software can be upgraded
when new versions come out as well... "

So, either he aint talkin or we know more than he does. I have asked him to send me more info as soon as he has it so I will pass it along if I get anything. Good luck all.

so far since i've gotten home i've called 8 local vzw stores. most of them didn't give me any info. one said nothing right now but Moto is coming out with 10+ android phones this year and some will obviously go to VZW (which we knew). a few mentioned the N1. one mentioned the Moto Calgary and it might be coming around March. he described it as a "step down in all ways" of the Droid.

then, there was 1 place which gave me some hope. when i asked what the next android phone was going to be on vzw, without hesitating he said his HTC rep told him they will be releasing a phone in 2 months, and its definitely different than the N1. i asked him for a name or specs, but he said he wasn't given that information. the htc rep just said in 2 months. so, that was good to hear. now, on to page 2 of the local VZW stores hahaha.

Good work mcbtrain929, keep us updated. I too called a few more stores around my area and none of them were aware of anything. I spoke with verizon customer service rep who told me that they do not know about new phones until they are released, which I thought was a little odd. I had a conversation with a verizon sales rep who kinda acted like he knew something, but hesitated to share anything. When I asked, "Have you heard of the HTC Passion or the HTC Incredible?", he started out saying, "It's funny you mention that, I took a training class last month and I saw something...what did you say those names were?" I repeated them and then there is this long awkward pause like he's looking up something in the computer and then said, "No I don't know of anything...". So maybe he knew something, maybe he didn't, I guess I'll never know. Everyone keep up the good work!

That seems to make sense. I'll bet this info was a week or two old (from the HTC rep to the VZW employee) such that early-March is the time frame for release. All this vague info is starting to muddle in my head. Didn't someone say we'd start hearing info around the Superbowl and it would be out a month later? I remember reading that. January is just dragging out, and then there's still all of February to get through. Ugh. :(

One month earlier release date is not much of a difference. Especially, if it is going to be released like on Mar 31st. It's like, oh yeah who cares. Seriously though. If I had to bet on it, I would still think that it will come out in April. HTC's product calendar's have traditionally been very accurate. And anyway, it's just one person's blog about a carrier in Sweden releasing it. One person. Sweden. I mean. Geez. Any person can sign up for a blog. And Sweden. We're not like talking about the USA, Canada, UK, or some other highly populated country.

The end of the very first paragraph.

HTC Bravo | Ub News

Um, no. If you are referring to this line " the original rumored phone will be displayed in April 2010 by the American operator T-Mobile launch.", its wrong. The original launch of the bravo was in April 2010 but it was for Tmobile Europe, not the US. They are simply looking at the pictures and murdering the english language. They probably dont knpow it was a european catalog they were looking at.

Hey, I know I'm behind in this, but I had stopped at the Verizon store yesterday to get my number changed so I asked the guy if he had heard anything about the HTC Bravo or HTC Incredible. He looked like he had never heard of the phones before (quite likely) and said no, he had heard nothing. I asked if Verizon was going to be getting any new phones. He kinda laughed and said that he hadn't heard of any. Then corrected himself and mentioned the Palm Pre and Pixi. So I asked, "but no android phones" and he said "No."
I don't think my conversation helped to do anything except confirm the fact that store reps know nothing. Figured I would add it anyways.

Ok so i called customer service to fix a problem with my bill. I asked about any new phones coming out and he told me about the pre/pixi.

Then i asked if he had heard about the nexus one coming and he had. I mentioned how t-mobile will not let you use the phone on a family plan. He said verizon would never do that. I also said that the phone is only available through google.com and is not available in the stores. He said once again they would never do that and it would be on display in stores.

So ya... customer service doesnt know jack.
