Opinions on HTC EVO V 4G

I am on the my 6 triumph
I just received My sixth Triumph for camera issues, this time a senior tech support rep flat out stated that it is a systemic issue with no remedy. ie: they knowingly are selling defective phones. At least I have a boatload of batteries though for when I sell it to get the EVO 3D. :)

Well I just read that the carrier talk to the manufacturers to slightly modify the phone to bring down the price or something like that. I don't think they swapped components. Probably more just modding it to work on VM.

Where can I find an OEM back case for the evo 3d? I don't want to have carrier branding.

Im personally planing on geting the Seido case with the kickstand, cover that logo right up to boot.

I've been reading reviews of the evo 3d since I'm considering picking up one of the evo v 4gs and the reviews are pretty good...

Yeah the record look great on this phone.

It's the little things that I'm simply unable to do in my OV, like watch mlbtv, a fully working Netflix, hdmi out, flash player, a better camera, and of course the dual core processor and 1 GB of Ram.

I'm sure I'll end up rooting because I love trying different roms bit I'm tempted to try it out stock for the first month just to enjoy all the enhancements first. Then when I get frustrated with app storage I'll do the root.

I'll likely be rooting it right away as it's my habit to do so.
Though I want to try Sense UI, So it's likely I won't do any heavy modding either until I've fully explored this phone.
Is it weird that I find the bulkiness of this phone appealing?

I've never owned an HTC.
I take it Sense UI is better than Motorola's Blur?

I kinda like bulkier stuff too... if the weight is distrubuted evenly and it feels nice. When things get lighter and such they just start feeling cheap and like they will break with barely any pressure... One reason I prefer the PSP 1000 over any other models. It feels nicer and sturdier (even if it is a bit heavier and has a bit less ram).

I've never used Motoblur, but I do like sense. I think a lot of people would say that Sense is better than Motoblur though.

I have giant hands so the bulkiness helps. I hear sense 3.6 is pretty cool. Sense was always (to me) the best looking of the family).

I like the new ps Vita over the psp 1000 better everything and its preety heavy cnt wait for this phone btw

Ok, so they added tethering. I occasionally use the built-in tether feature on my Optimus V, and have never been warned about it, because I use very little data when I use it. How are they going to know that someone is tethering?
Very simple actually, all they have to do is monitor your connection and parse the user agent string that your browser broadcasts. Obviously if your using a desktop browser it won't have android in the string. Busted! But I think that you'd really have to be raping your data plan for them to bother looking.

How hard would it be knowing that info to put a alert script in so they know and don't have to look? Busted.. They Know.. I would..

There's also the great app 4EXT Recovery Control that supports this phone. install recovery, roms, kernels, zips and do md5 checksums right from the application. Would say it's a definite "must" have if switching to the EVO.

Oh Nice app!! You have to love a app with all 5 stars from everyone who ever used it lol.. Can't wait..

The more I learn about this Evo V the more I am sure I am getting one.. Just love the big ugly feller and lots of options for sporting a cover on it and holsters.. Oh and ROMS!! May have to wait on this handset but everything else you will need for it already exists is what I'm just starting to grasp.. Awesome

Look I don't know much on how wifi works (don't care ) or how the carriers monitor it now.. As crappy as it works here in my area.. It should be free..
