Just got my Note 2 a week ago had a s3 before it. Wanted to get some opinions about the screen. What do you think about the resolution ,etc. when watching movies and doing everyday things....Thanks

bottom line i dont like it compared to other phones ..but of course you are gaining more screen ...which is nice...im used to higher pixel density..im waiting for a 5 inch HD 1080p phone..

It's fantastic. Just got back from a trip around the Bay Area, including a drive up the coast through Half Moon Bay, thru SF, Golden Gate, etc. I had my Nikon to shoot with but my wife just used her Note 2. Once we got settled in at IHOP for lunch, she showed me the video and pics she took near Half Moon bay, at the beach. I was stunned at how awesome the videos look (esp the one where she kept the phone still while filming!) on the Note's screen. Absolutely breathtaking. We both LOVE our Notes. :)

I think it's awesome. Maybe there are phones with better pixel density but i think that is something that your only going to notice if you look for it really closely or if you compare it side by side with another phone with higher PPI

I suppose it depends on who you are too, some people notice those kinds of details others don't

I like the screen a lot. I changed the Screen Mode setting to Natural from Standard. It's not as over saturated on the colors. :D

Looks great to me all around, just wish it was even bigger lol, I miss my Note 1s width for reading. But if your anal about screens, nothing short of a iphone 5 or dna will make you happy I guess

Its really going to come down what your used to!

As of late I've been using a nexus 4 a lot for the past month and I think the screen is just awesome. However while I was playing with my friends note 2 and compared it to my n4 colors just looked washed out...But honestly the colors really aren't washed out, they're just more natural and not as saturated as the notes Super Amoled screen is.

At this moment in time I happen to think it really comes down to preference. All the big dog screens available at the moment are great. To me that list goes as follows when talking about a crisp, clear, colorful screen...
Any of these 3 screens are honestly beautiful!

1- nexus 4
2- IPhone 5
3- Note 2

Didn't include the DNA because its got a 1080p screen and to me is just pointless on a hand held device. Also I've taken into account how viewing angles are, and how the screens perform in outdoor use.

I went from a Iphone 4 to the Note 2 and I love the screen. It's definitely not as sharp as the iphone 4/5 screens but for it's size, the Note 2 screen looks great.

its looks better than my GNex and S3. is it comparable to the Droid DNA? I dont think the display is as sharp as that phone but its definitely up there in terms of quality. movies especially look great on the note II's display.

I don't have experience with other smart phones for comparison but the N2 screen is large enough that, combined with a BT keyboard the device can be a substitute for my laptop about 90% of the time. Do the smaller screens on other phones have the same amount of information because of more pixels?

I think it looks okay if you change the setting to Natural and that will help with the over saturation of colors the Note has out of the box.

Given the size vs pixel ratio, it isn't as sharp as others but it is not bad all all. I have the iPhone 5, Note 2, Note 1, GS III, One X Plus, Lumia 920 etc. To be honest, only the Lumia 920 and and iPhone 5 stand out from a sharpness aspect.

If I was to pick an over all winner, I would go with the One X and One X plus.

With that said, the Note 2 is just fine and you can only notice the (very slight) difference when next to a smaller phone with similar pixel count.

I always have mine set to Natural. The default is too cartoony for my taste.

I prefer standard setting cause if the colors don't pop out and look great, whats the point of having such a nice phone anyway?

i had no idea people can tell the difference between 1080i, 720p, and 1080p on a small phone screen.

i think the screen looks excellent and i can't imagine why you need a better one on a phone.
