optical trackpad

Hello,
Can someone tell me if the optical track pad is backlit? Ie the Droid Eris track ball is and can be setup to flash (pulse) for missed calls, sms, emails, etc. Just wanted to make sure that feature wasn't dropped.
Thanks

The trackpad does not light up. instead there is an LED display (albeit a small one) by the "n" on the Verizon logo.

And it's a VERY small one that you can barely see. What a disappointment that the trackpad isn't backlit, or that the LED isn't something that you can actually SEE. Overall it's an awesome phone, there's just a couple things that make you scratch your head.

x2.

I mean it's optical... it technically IS but you can't see it. Having lights flashing would likely mess with the sensor in it, though I suppose they could have made a ring around it glow.

Also, I like the led size. I can see it fine but it's not distracting. No need to have a giant green flash every 2 seconds distracting you as you look at the screen, especially in the dark.

Agreed. Not sure what HTC was thinking on this one.
