How can stop the background running apps in samsung gts 5570 (galaxy pop)

Settings/Applications/Running applications

Select the app you want to stop and press Stop.

Warning: If you stop the wrong apps you might freeze the phone and you'll have to remove the battery to get it back.

Please note that it is not typically necessary to actively stop background apps on a regular basis (at least since not before Android version 2.1). The memory management is much improved since then.
