Help Optimum Wallpaper Image Size?

I'm trying to make a wallpaper image for my Droid Charge and for the life of me I can't seem to make a good looking image. I resized the image down to 480x800 which is the resolution of the screen but even that resulted in an image that when I went to choose one... well, too much of what I wanted from the image would've been cropped off.

So what can I do to make an optimally-sized image for the phone?

960x800 is the proper size but i dunno how to get it to move with screen swipes like default wallpapers.

Should be an option to enable wallpaper scrolling somewhere in your launcher's display options

960x800 looks great and scrolls fine. Googled '980x800 scenic' and had a few to choose from.

Launcher Pro allows scrolling wallpaper pretty easy, love the dock scrolling too.
