mjoo2

Lurker
Ok I followed guide on youtube video and now I have rooted my phone.
I don't know how to check but it says this device has root access.

Im Optimus Elite user.
barely know about technical stuff or computer stuff generally.

I have several questions.

1. How can I shut off my camera shutter sound?
I attempted to delete those shutter sound thru ES File explorer, but didn't
work

2. How can I change theme of this phone?
3. Can I change font of this phone?

4. What can I do with rooted phone?
(Primary reason why I tried to root mine was try to shut off shutter
sound, but now I wonder what else I can do with this phone :)

I don't have the elite (yet) but root is basically the same for all androids.
1. In es go to /system/media/audio/ui and delete the files that have camera in their name.
2. You will need a custom recovery for that. Have a nandroid just in case
3. Yes you can. In the playstore search for font changer. It has some downloadable font you can install.
4. You can do a lot if you know what your doing and even more with a custom rom flashed.

Do what he/she said above. However, for silencing the camera sound, you will need an edited camera apk file in order to silence it. Deleting the sounds in system/ui silences the camera only in other camera apps such as google goggles.

Delete cameraapp.apk in system/app (after backing it up) and replace it with this one -

Tell me if you can't access the file. Dropbox messes up sometimes.
Good luck :)

Thanks! but I have one more question.
So I could download it that file! thanks, and put it in my /system/app/ thru ES manager using superuser
after attempt to operate? replace? it into this system, it goes to app manager...instead of making change in camera section..... I don't know what to do at this point... Any help please?

Hmmm I'm a little confused on your wording, but here's what I do to get it working.

First, download the file I uploaded. Then, go to system/app and find the old cameraapp.apk. Delete that (after backing it up or something). After deleting it, go back to the sd card and find the cameraapp.apk you downloaded from me. Hold it, then say "cut". Navigate back to system/app and then say "paste". The app manager shouldn't be involved in the process.

To add to what David Dubz wrote; Once the apk is in the system/app directory, you need to set the permissions for the apk to rw-r-r and restart the phone before it starts working.
