Don't waste your time looking for oe extended battery. although I did find one 1840 chinese and it did say it was 1840 it went down faster after fully charged than did the original. surprise. surprise.
 
china makes cheap,copyright rip offs of many original goods. it wouldn't surprise me if the battery was some cheap knock off of original battery patent and called an extended type.
 
They usually don't have heat sensors or any of the safety shut offs that OEM or other quality batteries have.
 
I must be a lucky guy. I bought a 1840 battery off eBay for my Elite and am very happy with the increased run time. It was a noticable improvement over the stock battery. It will stay at 100% for about 10 hrs before starting to drain down. With the stock battery and the roughly same amount of usage I would be dead at 8 hours. Right now I am at 14 hrs and 90 %.
 
Hit or miss sounds about right for a Chinese battery. I'm still holding out for a good OEM replacement ...... might be in vain though :(

Do you happen to have a link to the seller? I'd like to pick up an Anker battery, but I don't believe they make them for the Elite.
