Root Optimus M Questions!

1) I rooted my phone using information from the forums. I then downloaded root explorer to delete my annoying metro apps. I went into the files and deleted them. Then the next day they appeared again. So does anyone know how or why that happened and what am I missing?

2) How can a rooted phone benefit me? Can you give examples?

3) Im running O/S 2.2.1 currently. Is there a way to upgrade to the latest Android Operating system. There is one right?

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. I think using that method, you have to delete two different files. Not positive though. I used Titanium to do it. It also offers the ability to "freeze" apps. That makes them not load, but does not delete them. It also has a quick way to clean up the Dalvik Cache, which needs to be done in order to gain the most space when removing a pre-installed app.

2. Titanium! Can you tell this is a useful program? I have all my apps AND their data backed up. Non-rooted backups do not back up the data.

3. It is not officially available yet, but the rumor is that it will be soon. If you want to tackle using a different ROM, then you can get it right now with the Cyanogen Mod ROM.

You have to delete both the APK and the ODEX files.
And rooting your phone basically gives you total control of your phone.
and for the update exactly what UKCatFan said..

1. Download "root uninstaller" works like a charm!
