Help Optimus V Bigger Contact Shortcut Thumbnails?

I'm envious of my wife's Motorola droid x contact thumbnail widgets - on the Optimus V they seem so tiny, and don't seem to really fill up the area as well. The thumbnail squares could actually be a lot larger. Has anyone here figured out a solution? All of the free widget apps in the marketplace seem pretty lame, but I feel like I'm overlooking something.

Home screen replacements like GoLauncher allow widget resizing but I'm not sure about shortcut icon resizing?

The only thing is, it won't pull photos of the contact from their facebook photos. You just have to assign the photos in your gmail contacts list.
