Lurker
I am fairly new with the smartphones, but everytime, for example, I want to exit out of navigation, it just goes back to my home page.. if I want to go into the settings of "quick settings" app to use my phone as a hotspot, it goes back to my home page.. I really don't want to root my phone ; / .

Any help will be awesome!
Thankyou
Jordan

There's 4 physical buttons on the front of your phone. From left to right they are: Menu, Home, Back, and Search. The Back button will essentially back you out of a program to the point where it totally exits out and puts you back to your home screen. The Home button puts you on your home screen. Which of those buttons is not doing what you want? The Menu button?

Correct, the physical menu button. All the way to the left. It just exits all programs

It shouldn't be doing that. I'm not quite sure how to help you without the phone being rooted. We need to figure out how this happened to begin with. Did you buy the phone this way (used phone?), or did this just happen out of the blue? Is this a new phone?

Hopefully someone will be able to help you. I know it would drive me insane if my buttons were funky like that.

yea its driving me hella crazy!!!!
the home button does the same action as the menu button
bought it new a couple months ago. I connected to a wireless network that I purchased from a hotel. after that it hasn't been the same. it was worse before. every button would start the voice command, and you can just imagine how annoying that is.
I already did the reset through "privacy" menu, and the turning it off, holding the home and volume down buttons, then holding the power button, but the second style of reset did not offer me any instructions like one website said it would.

I would of thought these factory resets would do it!

If you aren't rooted and phone is all stock it would lead me to believe it's a hardware issue. If you have ins or phone is less than 1 yr old I'd do a warranty swap thru VM

how hard is it to root my phone on the road? I'm on a roadtrip
I don't care about warrenties. I just want this one damn button to work lol

I'm gonna go with the above posters advice and recommend you exchange the phone for a new one while it's still under warranty. There's something obviously wrong with the phones hardware. Once you root the phone, the warranty is gone and you'll have to pay out of pocket for LG to repair it.

Keep in mind if you decide to keep the phone and root it, there's no guarantee that remapping will fix the problem. Rooting may only put a bandaid over an otherwise serious problem. Ultimately of course it is your decision.

If it is a hardware problem and somehow something got crossed it will do the same even rooted. Like the previous comments you should exchange the phone.

now
all the 4 buttons turn on the camera, only way to go back or shut it off is too restart my phone......seriously getting annoying.
