Optimus V Memorial Day Sales

One more question... After the return policy for BB, what do I do if something goes wrong with the phone? I know there is a one year warranty from LG... Right? Thanks

If there is a problem after the 30 day return w/ BB, your best bet is to call Virgin Mobile USA tech support. The number is floating around in the forums. They will determine if you need a new phone or not and send one out if applicable.

Not so much a dumb question, but an incomplete question-- I'm not sure what you need help with or whether or not you have skype and WiFi available on a home computer or what you know/don't know about Skype

So- some of this may still be Greek to you-in which case just ask another question.

1/ You need a computer with Wi-Fi. Download and install Skype from skype.com. (free)

2/ For the full usage- being able to use skype from the Optimus V over WiFi-- at home, friends home, coffee shops, libraries etc-- and call in and out from Skype without using VM minutes-- you need to get a Skype subscription-- monthly, quarterly, annually-- and a Skype phone number- again, different payment options. Cheapest in the long run is longest "contract" for subscription and phone number- paid that way, it works out to something like $5 a month and you have no need of anything other than the $25.00 plan with VM. Use the VM number for texting. All subscriptions, regardless of the payment plan include free long distance to any US or Canadian number.

3/ Skype for the Optimus is available at the android market-(free) use the link on the home screen on the Optimus.-- You will, like I mentioned, get more nag screens to activate the V. If you're not ready to do so, just hit the back button on the V.

You can also just download skype on home computer and Optimus, skip the subscription and phone number and use Skype for free calls to Skype subscribers and pay by the minute ( .02 a minute, I believe) to call phone numbers- no way for people without Skype to call you-- because you don't have a phone number. I don't see the point in doing this, but if anyone does, that's how it works.

This is a dumb question but I am drawing a blank. How do I set it up with Skype so I can make calls on wifibefore and or after I activate my V? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Thank you for your response. I was on skype.com earlier reading into everything and it it exactly like you told me. Once again thank you very much for your time with your response. The V may have to finally get opened tomorrow.

Well it looks like BB and RS have the V for 149.99 and neither website says sale by the price. I wonder if 149.99 in the normal price for this phone now since they will be releasing the Motorola sometime this summer?

Thanks for pointing that out! That is interesting. It's going to be a tough debate between the Optimus and the new Motorola.

That may be the route I take now. If I can use Google Latitude, get 20% off, it'll be around $120 before tax. Not bad.

Perm price reduction back to the original $149. BestBuy, RadioShack, and VM already have lowered. i'm sure Target and Wal-Mart will follow.
