Help OptimusM won't hang up a call.

My LG Optimus M wont hang up when i push "end", period..
The other party has long been gone, but my phone icon stays active up top in the tray, and also no matter how many times I push the red "END" button the phone screen stays active as if i am still in the middle of a call.
What causes this? Any fix?

What are the details of your phone?

Android version
Kernel
Root/no root

Have you done the obvious removal of the battery? That is the fastest easiest way to try n fix issues like this. If you already have, then I'm not sure. Answer the questions above and start troubleshooting.

I had this problem when my phone was new. It only happened a few times though. Had to take the battery out in order to get rid of the pesky call icon in the notification bar. Rooting the phone and putting a custom ROM seemed to have done the trick, because I haven't had that problem since.

I still get them at times with any rom. But then I click on the notification bar and the drag it down to go and change it.
