Help options for turning off 4g?

Does the new Inc4g allow you to toggle between 4g and 3g-only mobile?

I just assumed it would let users do that since that seems like the norm on a lot of phones now. But something I read elsewhere made me think this was not the case for the new Inc.

Living in DC, I expect VZW 4g to be great and this not to be an issue, but I may be spending a lot of time in the next year or two in places where 4g is spotty... afraid that I could be asking for battery issues if I buy a 4g phone that doesn't allow me to go to 3g-only mode.

Not an issue on the Inc4G. No need to turn it off. I bounce in and out of 4G all day (mostly 3G during the week) and have had no battery issues whatsoever. With the S4 processor, LTE is onboard, so it is much better on power than the first gen LTE devices (Rezound, RAZR, etc).

Actually - found some options - 4G Toggle was recommended and it puts you in the settings so you can turn it off. However, finding that it might not be necessary as others have mentioned to preserve battery life...

So if the app merely puts you in the settings, does that mean the Inc4g actually has a way of doing it?? (without the extra app)

I'm not worried so much about homepage shortcuts to a settings page or whatever... though I guess that would also be helpful.
