Help Orange DHD hard reset question

Jfuller1

Lurker
My DHD has gradually slowed down following several updates and I regularly get an the green HTC screen with a white background when exiting apps and then have to wait for the icons etc to reload. This is getting increasingly frustrated and I'm wondering if the only solution is to do a hard reset. If I were to do a hard reset would I have to make a list of all the apps I have and then manually download them again or would Google Play automatically push them all back to my phone?

Thanks

John

They should just start downloading again as soon as you log in with your Google account. If you go to settings / privacy you will see an option called 'automatic restore' and if that's ticked you should be fine :)

There is one thing you could try first though (which fixed the same issue for me) : if you go to settings / applications / development and tick 'usb debugging' and then press ok, restart your phone and see if that makes any difference. I'm not really sure why it worked but it did :)

Thanks for that, I'll give the USB debugging a try...

I had exactly the same problem.

Try uninstalling a few apps ( sorry , I know ) especialy ones which take up a lot of RAM.

This was the main reason I rooted my DHD - I could then run a custom ROM which had more free RAM and managed things a bit better.

I think rooting might be the way to go as I've tried to get rid of most apps that I don't use on a regular basis
