Ordered, Now I have questions... :)

I have been doing a bit of research about the Note 3 before switching from the iPhone, but there are a few things I cannot seem to find.
I did go ahead and order the phone (yay!) but I would love to find a few things out before I get it in the mail on the 10th. :)

Currently on the iPhone, there is iMessage which basically gives me the ability to see when another iPhone user has read their text, then it shows a little bubble thing when that user is responding back to me. SO, more like a chat function vs a text messaging function.
Do the Notes have something that is similar? I really loved that function!

Also, I hate Chrome for browsing the web. I know there is the regular Internet app, if I just leave Chrome alone and use the normal Internet application, does it hurt anything?

I just found out that the play store has an iMessage app now.

Good questions!

The good news is once you have your new Note 3 in hand you'll love it.

I have one as well as a new iPhone 5S. I'm so impressed with my Note 3 I am giving my iPhone to my cousin tomorrow. Their is no perfect smartphone, yet my Note 3 comes closer than any of the twenty plus phones I've bought over the last few years.

To your questions: currently their isn't an equivalent to iOS messaging app. So if you can focus on all the great features the Note 3 does have you'll be fine.

Chrome can easily be ignored with no problem. You can even remove the icon from the home screen.

The included browser works great, plus the beauty of Android is there's lots of other free browser's like Firefox in the Google Play Store. That's where you'll find a vast selection of apps.

A cross-platform app like WhatsApp might give you iMessage feel that you're looking for. The trick is to get all you iFriends and BBFriends to start using it.

There's a whole bunch of browsers. I've settled on two I had never heard of before I got this my first smartphone on September 24 and both of which are better than Chrome here.

UC browser - quick - and
Puffin - which somehow has Flash.

They both work very well on this phone.

There's also Opera and Opera mini, good old Firefox and Photon. I'm sure there are more, but those first two above, I seem to be settling on.

I am using a Note 2 with 4.1.2. So not sure if 4.3 changed anything.

I use the stock messaging app and it does have that option.

Open Messaging app and go into the settings. Under Text Message (SMS) settings, check the box beside Delivery reports - request a delivery report for each message you send. You can also do this under Multimedia Message(MMS) settings.

LOL. I use the same thing. I used UC browser back when I had the Vivaz Pro using Symbian OS, so was already familiar with it. Good to see it ported over.

The only thing I don't like about Puffin is if the server goes down. Then you can't use Puffin at all (it just doesn't work) and I have to resort to another browser. The Flash in Puffin works differently than other browsers as it is remotely executed off the cloud (not from the device itself).
 
I like Dolphin and also Boat. I think Chrome must have had some bug fix. I've been using it on this phone and it seems much smoother than I remembered.
