I ordered through Wirefly, and I am starting to wonder if I made a mistake. My order says "approved - awaiting inventory". Great, but I'd love some sort of estimate on how long will I be awaiting. A week... A month... Saving $50 is starting to feel less appealing.

I also ordered mine today, also paid retail, and have the same estimated delivery but in the past I have always received my phone a few days earlier than the expected date from T-Mo so I'm hoping for a Tuesday delivery!

Since it still says "pre-order now" for the phone I assume they're just waiting until the 20th to ship. You can actually go to the whereismyorder site and live chat and verify that it's not backordered but just not released yet.

If you look at my posts I am a PHONE WHORE!!!!! Lol. Long story short. I went back to the Thunderbolt last week (Full retail billed to my account). It is a nice phone and I got the battery life under control BUT....... It still isn't great battery life, I had great battery on my DX, Nexus S and a few others. Also The build quality is not that good.
The power button has become VERY recessed, the screen has gaps where it is seated into the body of the phone. call quality is mediocre to bad and although the external speaker is decent it is HORRIBLE for speaker pone.
I figure if I had to pay $600 the phone should be great! WELL I JUST ORDERED MY G2X!!! After an hour of T-Mobile's site being messed up. My Thunderbolt will be sent via Fed Ex back to VZW.
I went to T-Mo's site because even if you can get it cheaper on Let's Talk and Wire Fly They will hit you with an additional $300 fee if you cancel change your plan or move the device to another line, that's on top of the T-Mobile ETF!!!!

Lol yeah I can't blame you there.
I've really thought about picking this phone up but I just really like being able to press my trackpad on my myTouch 4G to wake it instead of hitting the power button. It's the little things...

I just went in and talked to the guy a little bit and he brought it out. It was funny cuz he didn't want anyone to see it. He said I was the first person in the state besides employees to play with it lol. That's why I took the pic. I felt special lol

LOL!! I know what you mean. I did the same thing when I bought the Logitech Revue. Had to take a picture and post it on my Facebook page.
So you didn't purchase it but talked the guy into letting you see their "test" phone? That's still awesome.

Just walk into any tmo store, tell them you're thinking of getting the vibrant or mytouch 4g but want to see if the g2x is worth the "hype". Guy whipped the g2x out like it was a normal day.
Very nice, didn't see wifi hotspot but i did see wifi calling. Couldn't manage to talk them into selling me it today as the guy said the company is trying to catch store cheaters... But I got to play with it for 20 minutes. I should have taken a pic but I didn't think about it.
Anyone want to confirm that there are "secret shoppers" out there trying to catch stores selling early? Sales guy pretty much zipped tight after I started to offer cash. I mean, its $20-40, not like $100 and he backed down real fast.

You know what carriers should do with phone releases... do midnight releases like they do for video games. That would be so so damn awesome.
Ordered this last week at walmart. Then I decided since it won't be shipped till the 20th, might as well pay less with wirefly.
So I just ordered it for $119(with contract) at wirefly... CHeaaa
Why with contract? Pfft, my roommate wanted to be added to my plan and she doesn't want to pay the full retail. -__-
