Original Droid 3 extended battery

First thing I bought after the I bought the phone on the first day of sale.
about a third longer. Very useful.

The original cover will click on over it, but after a while it will start getting so it unclicks itself along one side slightly. Not a real problem and I use mine with the thin battery cover that was original, but i also use the nobby-black rubbery case to hold things together. If I use the thicker cover that the extended battery comes with, the black-nobby rubbery case lower section will not stay on correctly, at the top left particularly. when the extended battery is "forced" into the thin original back plate battery cover, all is well. Sorta.
Battery life, even with the extended battery, is not so great. Not like days and days or anything, more like maybe most of a day if you aren't using blutooth to stream GoogleMusic constantly (4 -5 hours then maybe ?) or talking to people on the phone, but who does that anyway. Anyway, I bought an external battery by SIIG that can plug into the charging USB port and is more mAH than the extended battery and charges the phone while powering it and charges via USB itself and is about half the price of an extended battery, so that's something to think about.

Agreed. It's nice to be able to go through your whole day and not worry about having enough charge left in your phone.

If you buy the OEM extended battery, it comes with the new back cover. I prefer to use the back it came with since batteries tend to expand when they get warm. The extended battery cover also has the added benefit of recessing the camera lens about a millimeter so that the phone lays flat.

I bought the extended battery a few weeks after getting my D3. Typically, I get more than 24 hours to a charge. That's with quite a bit of texting, phone calls and surfing. The battery comes with a new back cover for the phone. I can't really tell any difference in the size, but the phone is a tad bit heavier.
I'd highly recommend the extended battery. I took my phone off the charger this morning, made calls, played some games, surfed a bit, and have had wifi on all day. The phone is still at 80%. I won't charge it until sometime tomorrow (I have a desk dock at my office, because I play Pandora all day at work).
Well to say I'm a heavy user is an under statement at the moment I charge my galaxy s 2 maybe three times a day... This is what I'm thinking either buy the hdmi oem verizon dock and the extended battery how much does it thicken the phone? .. Or buy another stock battery and any old dock that has a extra charging slot behind it and swap batteries? What should I do?
The D3's OEM extended battery does not noticebly thicken the phone, even with its own (included) battery cover. You would think it would have to, but it really does fit inside the stock cover, pretty well anyway.
Any case at all thickens the phone way more than the extended battery does.
I don't even know where the stock battery is anymore. I also have a separate generic "charging battery" I can plug in to recharge and power the phone more than doubling the extended battery's life. With that I never have to remove the extended battery.

Even with the extended battery in, the phone still fits in the desktop charger, so from that, you can probably tell that it doesn't make the phone much thicker at all. If it did, the phone wouldn't fit. There's virtually no difference in the thickness, or if there is, it's very, very slight. The back cover that comes with the extended battery is flat.
Well guys after all the good feedback there was no way I wasn't going to get it so I went along and got the original verizon bf6x battery and door of eBay and also bought this

So I can charge my phone and the original battery at the same time.. So what do you think guys did I go with an alright option? Do you think that thing is ok and not cheap and going to damage the battery? Please would love some feedback. thanks guys

I only have the extended. I have never had a standard battery. My brother on the other hand, only has the standard. I use my phone a lot more than him, his dies, mine doesn't. The original back doesn't quite fit. The extended back is barely larger. The only time you will notice it is if you are putting a case on it. Which won't work. All you have to do though, if you want a case, is not put the back door at all.

If there was a good extended, reliable battery, I'd happily buy it. But I'm not spending $50 or so on a battery that hardly makes a difference on my phone.

My battery woes were turned around after rooting and flashing Steel Droid onto the phone. I can go a whole day of moderate use with 50% remaining at the end of the day on performance mode. Nothing else did it including the extended battery.
