Root Original Galaxy Tab root help - Rookie

Hey guys,

So I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this kind of stuff, but I have a Galaxy Tab, SCH-1800, and I'm trying to get at least Android 4.0 or higher software. I'm just trying to find a way to do it.

Hello and welcome to the forums. I think your options is only rooting and using a custom rom such as cyanogenmod and Dont forget the g apps

Thanks for the help, but I wouldn't know how to begin any of that. I'm know I'm asking a lot for someone to walk me through this, but hopefully someone has to the time to help me out

So you Dont know anything about rooting . may I ask are you using a windows PC or laptop .

I usually use a macbook pro, but I do have access to a windows laptop

I Dont know if you use this tablet but in about 9 months CDMA will be terminated . depending on your area it may have started already . this tablet wont be any good on CDMA but may work on WiFi . I can't find any new ROMs for this tablet I am still checking . please look at the video before start the rooting . and follow that guide and try to use super Su app in the play store . if not no biggie can change later on with just flashing a zip .
