OTA 2.1 Has started..

Anyone else think it is odd that it starts rolling out in mass on April Fools day? It seems like they are just setting us up... :)

instead of accepting the update like a complete newb, you mount it on your computer and pull off the update.zip from your SD card and upload it here.

We all get happy.

You reboot your phone and get the update anyway.

ugh.

April Fool's Dayis two days away.
 
Sounds like everyone should have it by Friday. Hopefully we'll see ROMs based on this update shortly after that.

On a side note - most of the major updates (Maps, Browser, Gallery) could've or have already been released by google ages ago in the market. I'm glad to see them moving to the more modular approach to updating in the future so we don't have to wait around for carriers so much.
 
I'm not leaving here till I can prove it you guys. LOL

How about instead of being toolbags, you all tell me HOW to prove it to you?
 
^ someone got the update in the normal Droid forum...the fool installed it instead of pulling it off his phone though. awful.
