OTA 45.3.6 (re-release) is Live

It automatically connects the phone to the strongest signal available.

For some unkown reason, I NEVER changed this setting!!! This might explain my roaming situation in my apartment, as well as the "extra" battery drain I have been experiencing, even WITH the Seidio 3500Mah Battery....hmmm.

I feel like such a NOOB for not checking this in the first place...wow. As usual, thank you my friend! :0

Yes. Very likely. When it's set to Sprint only or any CDMA, it doesn't pick up all the possible signals to keep the phone from searching for a signal.

Many people have found that to resolve any issues they've had with the battery life. I am one of the lucky few that have been completely satisfied with the battery life. I will admit though, since the last update, it isn't quite as great as it was before...but...I also removed juice defender, so I may re-install that to see if it helps. The only thing I didn't like with Juice defender on this particular phone is that it seemed to stall the phone from connecting to the internet browser via 3G.

Do you use WidgetLocker? If so go to the market and download the update, this app is responsible for battery drain unless you download the latest update from the dev.

Hilarious, I have an Evo and was wondering why my battery life was so god awful recently, I couldn't figure out if it was Facebook Messenger, Google Music, or Widgetlocker. I guess I now have the answer.
