Root OTA FPS Update & Unrevoked 3.21

I would like to root my phone with Unrevoked 3.21. My question is, if I update my phone with the new OTA update will I still be able to root my phone with Unrevoked 3.21 afterwards or should I skip the OTA update all together?

Also I understand that HTC Sync needs to be uninstalled before rooting my phone with Unrevoked 3.21. Could I uninstall the HTC Sync drivers as well?

I was able to unroot, apply the update, and then reroot with unrevoked 3.21, there is a guide at xda
