(OTA) Multitouch now official on N1 in Browser, Gallery, Maps

I don't get it, it's not the first multi-touch android. Weren't android phones in the UK shipped with multitouch enabled in stock apps?

But still, am very pleased to see this is on its way. Good job Google :)
 
I am located in cali, i can confirm the multitouch

sorry im at work so i cant post pics or a video but i assume most will get it today but the update you will see a lil android with an open box next to it showing its being updating
 
Hope UK doesn't have to wait longer!

Can someone confirm this can be done through a wifi connection? Not really experienced android/OTA updates.
 
More importantly does the multi touch affect the palm touching the screen problem and is it enabled on the keyboard?

that's the only reason I want multi-touch. My brain's not wired right for pinch-and-zoom, I always do it the wrong way so I'm not too bothered about that.

You got that right! I had to wait a FULL YEAR before my Blackberry 9000 got it's FIRST OS update!

AT&T farted around like nothing I've ever seen before so this update coming from Google after only a month is huge for me.
 
Good news. Pretty impressive timing for an update. This might just boost sales of the N1, here's hoping anyway.
 
it was part of their plan... see how many they could sell without it... then... BLAM-O!!! ;)

and of course, to p!ss off Apple too... ;)

i would love to but stuck at work if its not up or if you dont have i will do it when i get home unfortunately i get off at 6 pacific time sorry
 
So is it possible to apply this update offline. For example does it save somewhere on the N1 and can someone rip it off and share it here? Would save me waiting for it ;-)
