Root OTA Radio update...why unroot?

can someone explain why it's necessary to unroot my phone in order to update the radio? I would like to try skyraiders ROM but just don't feel comfortable unrooting my phone.

will it be possible in the future to update the radio without unrooting?

You can use skyraider s.0 just like any other rom u have used for root, u just dont get all the features as if u updated ur radio with the leak, but they are having issues to anyway, id stay on the stock radio, and just use the roms like i do.

It's no different than rooting the phone. I've gone back and forth a few times. Just read and understand how to do it and be careful. Don't install the ota leak (update.zip) twice or pull the battery before it's done.

Because you have to use the official 2.1 OTA to get the new radio, which you can flash unless you're on the stock rom with the stock recovery.
