OTA Rolling out

I just flashed the update. You can grab it here:

Copy it to your Nexus S. I renamed it update.zip, but not sure if you have to with the NS's recovery mode.
Then reboot into the recovery mode (Hold Volume Up while powering on).
Use the volume buttons to select Recovery and select it with the power button.
Your phone will boot into recovery mode now. Access the recovery menu by holding Power and pressing Volume up.
Now select Apply Update and find the file.

Supposedly it changes some Maps APIs and might fix the browser lag by updating some Java framework libraries.
 
i clicked update , went to update.zip and then it went into the file and asked me what part of the file i wanted to update. it never did that on my nexus one.. wtf??
 
Doesn't look like much of an update. Think I'll wait. There can't be many phones to get through though.

Odd, didn't do that for me. Just verified it and flashed it.

After using it for a bit, it really does seem to have fixed the browser lag. That alone makes it worth flashing IMHO.
 
Oh I know what one of the bug fix was. Your stared items in your maps were out of order. It might have been alphabetical or something. Now it's fixed back to sorting back to distance order, which I very much prefer.
 
i manually upgraded this morning and had to take it back to bestbuy cause it froze on me around 1pm and woudnt come back on.. they swapped the phone and here i am waiting for it again.. lol

did it come with the new OTA or are you waiting for it? Anyways, it seems that with your NS, you got the upate in a day :)
