Root OTA stuck reseting phone

Dumhed

Lurker
My wife has a Thunderbolt... for which I followed instructions here by scotty to a T... rooted perfectly with ICS. We were quite pleased at how it worked.

Then, today, she said she got a notification for an update which she did not install. But shortly after, her phone reset and went to recovery (Revolutionary).

The installation failed (which I'm fine with).

Code:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

When I reboot the system from recovery, the phone boots properly. But then after the phone is up and running again, it reboots and tries to update again.

How do I stop it?

there is also a file called "updater" that you can freeze with TiBu or an equivalent bloat remover. this will stop the phone from searching for updates :)

I was having the same problem so i jist did a factory reset. Anyways, can the update be done successfully somehow?

If you're revolutionary rooted,I'd not recomend it. Best bet is to flash the stock Rom in recovery, then New radio in hboot. Can't link.them atm,but there are Rom and radio links in the root and downgrade ics thread :)
