Root ota update 7-25

OK so I've been dealing with the annoying ota update notification for 24 hours now and am wondering if anyone knows what will happen should i accept? I'm running ultra Rom . Not sure if it would just abort the install once it bumped into root or if it would unroot me?

Do you still have backups made from before the update?
I got rid of the update on as a side affect of running titanium after a fresh rom install.

Be nice to know if a cwm restore would do it.
Im sure my phone will get it soon.

I was afraid she might run the update not knowing better and maybe it will just fail to update or brick the phone?

You won't be able to update OTA from a custom rom and with CWM installed. I think you're better off waiting for your favorite rom to be updated or wait for someone to post an updated stock rom here.

Any idea what would happen if you just tell it to run the update?

Nope.. but normally what happens is it will fail and boot into CWM.

That is surely the expected outcome but it remember the last time this update came it was wiping out root.

Yep more than likely that will be the case. I wish my phone would notify me of an update. I just checked manually and it says no update available.

Well Im not giving that up. Ever! I already have the update. Its like this thing that used to happen to voicemail, the icon would stay with no new message no matter what I did until I got a new voicemail and checked it.

The voicemail icon bugged me in an OCD kind of way. Now I know this update nag will for sure.

I made a fresh titanium and cwm backups.

hey who ever gets the update notification. do not except it. hit install later. then got into a root exploroer and look in /cache there should be a link it should start http: //android.clients. this is the direct link to the google server for the update. Then we can down load the full stock update rom if you wanted to go back to stock to update and this will also flash the modem.

note: after you download the file you will have to rename it to update.zip. then put it in the root of your sdcard. the direct link will say what it is updating to like fc29_to_ff27 something like that. but this zip would be very helpful.
