OTA Update and factory reset

After losign all data connectivity and getting a new sim card I was forced to factory reset my TB. I bought it on release day. I asked before the reset if it would go to pre-OTA update and the rep said it would. (The rep may be an idiot, claiming that all 4G phones are GSM phones) When I look for the update it says that none are available. My friend with a TB has all the same numbers for kernel, software version ect. Did a factory reset preserve my OTA? I went to another verizon store and asked why I don't have it and their system has no OTA updates listed.

The rep was wrong. If you installed the OTA update, a factory reset will NOT remove the OTA update.

If you hadn't realized it yet the reps know about nothing on technical issues.

I have the same issue...data connectivity lost...even after factory reset, no data connectivity. Wifi worked fine. Tech Guy did tell me the OTA Update would stick even after the reset. I never did that update because I didn't want to deal with the random reboots.

**Note** after traveling an hour away from my home area the data connectivity returned...it later went away then returned...replacement is supposed to be here tomorrow...I hope it doesn't have the update!

After reading the thread about the horror stories of replacement phones from Verizon I am going to hold on to my phone until a good update comes out. As soon as I get the replacement I am sending it back. My phone is working right now so...hopefully it continues that way...

BTW: They have already screwed up sending me the replacement phone as they said they would...twice...

BTW, I read that the GB 2.3 for the Evo is causing their owners some issues as well. Why can't they test these updates a little better before sending them out!

I lose mms capabilities for no reason ever second day... I have to factory reset to get them back. I'm done with this phone, I should have taken it back when problems first came up instead of listening to tech support. I'm a week outside of my returnable time...
