Some possible Bugs/ Fixes.

*Im not certain of this but I thought some of the noise had been removed from night photos. They could have put it in to auto clean the noise, obviously not possible with videos.

*The orientation sensor on this phone, or at least the orginal version was non-functional. It would stick and spin, they appear to have resolved this a little but its still buggy. Its also still a full screen length/ width wrong when looking at objects spatially. You can see this in Google Earth. Also if you motion the phone in a small circle in the sky youll see it moves ovally like an egg shape. Certainly no where near as smooth and accurate as the Admire that I had before (Non EH29 rom). Contrary to popular belief you do not have to continually recalibrate an orientation sensor, errors are software related.

*Did they alter the screen brightness at all? The width of the three toggles wasnt wide enough before. In a dark room at the lowest toggle, it was an eye burner, outside in the bright sun light you wouldnt see anything on the highest toggle. There are apps (screen adjuster - prevents you from installing non market apps apps) to alter this but in all fairness you would think they would make more of an effort if theyre not going to put in a light sensor. If they changed it it wasnt much.

*CPU usage appears to have dropped since the update. Im not sure if they removed a lot of dud apps or improved cpu management. Much better either way - translates to lower battery usage too.

*Did they adjust the sound coming through the speaker? I sensed it was a little louder and clearer but not by much. Its certainly no where near beats audio quality (that app bricks your phone btw atm) either way.

* Im sure scrolling particularly through web pages is smoother than before, it sometimes seemed unresponsive or inaccurate before the update.

*GPS sticks in 3d party apps when resrating session or sometimes just when the screen changes orientation, gps test is one. I believe this one is not OS related. Ive also noted TTF varies from 15 secs to many minutes when standalone warm starting (AGPS) even under similar conditions/ db ratings.

Feel free to post other changes or unresolved bugs.

Hmmm... I imagine this is the 'd' version you're referring to. Really interesting details here; much obliged for them. I've been holding off from the update (unrooted), not knowing if it was worth it or not. Lots of positive reasons from you here.

I keep wondering if everyone else has updated to 'd'.

Yes there is only one at the moment. If you do it, may be you could verify my suppositions as i wasnt really looking out for them. The apps changes are definite. I should have tried to obtain the update file first and try to open it.

I found my phone runs more background Apps in version d than it did in version c .

77010 c was the original software- I had slightly better performance with that.

Interesting. I still haven't updated since the number of reported positive aspects are about equal with the negative ones. It's all so subjective, though, when one considers the wide variety of apps each of us chooses to install and how many background ops might be occurring.

What to do, what to do... <wrings hands>

Im not sure about overall background numbers of apps but cpu load on mine dropped a lot after the update. I have since frozen a lot of apps and blocked alot from starting up, improving load issues further. I cant think of any negatives from updating. Obviously nothings worse and i havent noticed anything restrictive added.

I had been following the other thread on the pros and cons. I'm glad I'm not the last hold out. My phone works great as it is (before update).

The old adage, If it ain't broke don't fix it comes to mind.

:-)

Sorry for the necro....

I've decided to finally update the Motion to "d", but have a quick question. I already updated Google Play Music. However, I noted that the "d" update includes an update for it in the package. Do I need to roll Google Play Music back or does it not matter?
