OTA Update Changes Thread

I am not sure if anybody else has noticed similar thing on their phone. I have noticed on an average about 50MB additional memory free at any point in time. I have not installed or removed any applications after the upgrade and I am running the same apps before and after the upgrade. Prior to upgrade, I used to see about 70MB free memory and now I see about 120 MB free. This may be one of the reasons for snappier performance post upgrade - at least on my phone.

I"m rooted.....lag fixed......the phone flies now but when I download the update........it downloads.......the progress bar runs to 100%....the phone reboots......acts likes it's doing something .....restarts and says update failed.
It's ok though......update or not....my phone works great and I'm ok with that:D

After the update everything has been fine for me (I didnt even have issues before the update) I love the fact that the after call blinking call time has been reduced to one blink then goes back to the regular phone screen. I would be clicking the home key 3 or 4 times to get it back if I was in a hurry and needed to make a few calls in just a few minutes.

To be honest I hate the new youtube widget. I cant stand the most played videos on youtube. Most of my use on youtube is to check out some death metal or really messed bloody chainsaw horrible (I like creepy stuff) video and I could really care less about "jasons first love" scrolling across my phones home screen every few seconds. Needless to say that widget is not in use any longer and would love it if there was an alternative.

Just noticed that when going to clear the Market's cache in Settings-->Applications-->Manage Applications--> Market is no longer in my list. I dont know if this is the same for anyone else as well but I would just like to go in every few days and clear it out. I noticed a few meg worth of build up just after a few uses. I doubt some type of auto clear was included in that update.

Do you use any kind of task killer?

Maybe others have had this happen and I didnt see the post but, now after the upgrade (that went smoothly..No errors at all and GPS seem much more stable now) when I go to settings..software update.. I get "NO FIRMWARE" message.

I have rebooted and still no change. Anyone else seeing this?

Are you sure you are pushing the check for update button? I get the quick "no firmware" pop-up at the bottom of the screen when I hit the resume update button.

I'm also now seeing the same "no firmware" toast popup after the last update. Pressing the same "Software update" menu item I've always pressed, which used to check and/or say "wait 24 hours".

FWIW, the logcat debug output upon clicking update seems to indicate that reason is due to it thinking it's not connected, or Fumostatus out of range (FUMO (Firmware Update Management Object))

Code:
I/DBG_WSS_TP( 2557): [wssHttpAdapter.java Line:2050] getIsConnected connect status is false
I/DBG_WSS_DM( 2557): [wssAppBroadcastReceiver.java Line:251] BroadcastSoftwareUpdateMenu Fumostatus is out of range
I/NotificationService( 2259): enqueueToast pkg=com.wssyncmldm callback=android.app.ITransientNotification$Stub$Proxy@47f4a610 duration=0

Definitely get that info to @GalaxySsupport on twitter or the facebook page under the service tab. Some files didn't get replaced during the update or something. Did you get any errors while updating?

I couldnt manually check for update on wifi. When I got to a town with edge, I checked. It found the update right away and downloaded.
