OTA update is live (for real this time)

It wasn't pushed to my phone, but I hit check for new software, and it found an update right away, downloading as we speak, 35.xxMB.

The update downloaded... the phone rebooted and now it is just stuck on a screen with a render of phone with red triangle and exclamation point. There are no options to do anything. Pressing the buttons has no effect. Holding in the power button does not turn the phone off. I am completely stuck

I pulled the battery and the phone booted fine but got a message stating that the update failed..... think the root is affecting the update?

i got the update and loaded it. interestingly enough, my coworker tried to check for new software, and right after clicking check new, the dialog box came and went...

told him to check later in case the servers are getting flooded...

Possibly. Did you delete any preinstalled apps that you couldn't normally delete? When you do an official OTA you generally want your phone to be stock ish.(Non rooted, everything that is normally unchangeable should be the way it was when you got the phone)

Updated my rooted TB but lost root. Can wait to root again later, the GPS and 4G/3G fix are worth it.

Kinda weird (IMO) that they focused on the 3g network when dealing with the connectivity and not 4g network.

I don't thiink it would be worth losing root for. There is a backup assistance icon in the app drawer now. Also where I get shotty 4G before I would have no data at all now I've got steady 3G with random spruts of 4G. Won't know anything about battery until later
