Root OTA Update (Root Removal)

I searched around and I found misleading answers...

I am getting really annoyed at the 'update' that keeps popping up on my phone. I think I might as well install it just to get the message out of the way.

However I would like to know if anyone else has already done it, and if so, what steps did you take? Every time I attempt to install it, it gives me an error. I suspect it is due to the phone being rooted.

Tried a manual install from ZTE's site.

This is most inappropriate.

You have to unroot the phone and, if the rooting process did anything more than rooting (one click roots do), you have to undo those changes too.
