Root OTA update

I just got my Evo V 4G maybe a month ago, and I realized I have an OTA update. I think I read somewhere on here not to do it if your phone is rooted. If this is true, how do I unroot it for a couple minutes to download/install it? I'm just rooted, no special ROM or anything.

nope, dont do it if you are rooted...
you can go 2 ways...
1. if you are s-off, there is a zip around here that has all the updates and you can flash that in bootloader...

2a. if you are s-on, you can go s-off

2b. or you can flash the ruu to go back to full stock, then take the update, and root again...

pick your poison...

I was hoping I would not have to restart but hey, that's what backups are for.

Before I do it, it says it's for "System enhancement, 14.65mb". Is it really going to change anything noticeably? Or should I just not worry about it

yep, thats the radio update...
you prob want that as it will give you a better signal + no more of those dreaded 'radio interference errors'

Oh okay, good. I don't get the errors, but the signal does suck sometimes, especially in my room. It fades in and out real quick sometimes

I downloaded the RUU file that was in the forum post, and it cannot be extracted and there aren't any files inside the 400mb download even though it says there is.
