Otg cable use

Hi everybody, I need help. I have a Samsung galaxy light by T-Mobile. I want to use an Otg cable so I can use my ps3 controller to play my emulators or Movies fRom my thumb dRive. Does my phone have to be rooted or can I just enable usb debugging to solve the problem. Heeelllppppppp!!!!

if samsung haven't enabled the OTG feature, you won't have it on any phone. there are nothing to mess up with root or usb debugging.
