Root OTG on android 4.2?

Has anyone successfully gotten OTG working on 4.2? I know that "Angry Beans" doesnt support it. I have tried. I know its both the ROM and kernel that need to be enabled to use OTG, But are there any other 4.2 ROMs that have this working?

Another note, I have tried to flash buttered toast with "Angry Beans" to try to get it to work, And ended up bootlooping. I assume the ROM cant work with the kernel. Im not even sure if the ROM can support OTG or not, But I had to try.

The test version of BT for 4.2.x is the only option AFAIK and you already tried that. The support is all in the kernel so the ROM doesn't really need anything other than to work with a kernel that supports OTG.

Does anyone have a list of working kernels that will work with 4.2 ROMs? One of them has to have OTG working. :(
I don't think so. The changelog for the AOSP version of the Mac kernel mentions activating OTG but I tested that with the developer and it didn't work and I couldn't get the kernel to boot when he tried to fix it.

I'm afraid your options at this point are to use a 4.2.x ROM that is compatible with the BT test kernel or a 4.1.x or Sense ROM that works with BT and/or Anthrax.

Do you know what ROMs are working with Buttered toast? I just downloaded aliendroid and pac-man 4.2 ROM to give those a whirl.

I'm not sure but your best bet would be to check the ButteredToast thread on XDA where the test kernel is posted. I use mazda's AOKP 3.5.2 or a Sense 3.6 ROM with BT when I want to use OTG.

The thing is, I really like the look and feel of 4.2. I kinda wanna use it as my daily, As long as I can get OTG working properly. Right now I have been using MobsterRom as my daily and been switching to 4.2 on the weekends, or when I dont have work.

If 4.2 had OTG, I would have no reason to go to anything else. :p

I'm on dirty unicorns v3 and on kernel tuner it says I can activate otg but I don't have a cable at the time. Can someone tell me if it works on that ROM

That's something slightly different.

Kernel Tuner sets a system variable in sysfs that tells android to handle the USB connection in host mode even when using the standard cable so you don't have to get a real OTG adapter. I've never tried it but that's supposed to allow your normal USB cable to connect to a powered hub and make the physical connections required for OTG, but I think the kernel still has to support it.

There are a few posts in the Kernel Tuner thread on XDA that explain it in more detail.

My experience was Pacman did not work for me, maybe I need an application or something?

BluROM worked without installing an app.

Also can confirm that Wild for the night works with OTG, however on all these ROMs the OTG cable needs to be with power.
