Root Other Sense Kernels?

I was on XDA's site looking up the new rom (AlterROM) and review the comments someone mentioned LionFish kernel. Are there other kernels other than ChopSuey, Freedom, Anthrax, Stock (of course), and Golden Monkey for Sense ROMs? How are they compared to the ones I've stated?

*side note* Yes I know kernels act different on different phones, lol.

Update....Aggressive-Lionfish 1.6 is really nice. I'm using the Smartassv2 governor and it's basically lag-free. I'll have to determine battery in a few days but from what I've read Smartassv2 is the best governor for battery.

Update 2....I had a random boot loop with this kernel today. I was doing something and like normal I press the back button to close out whatever program is running and all of a sudden it froze and rebooted. I thought it couldn't handle the stress that's why it reboot but then it just keep loading the boot screen. Pulled the battery and wiped cache/dalvik-cache and all is fine.

What are your SetCPU settings?

Assuming the kernel is stable... bootloops are usually caused by having the MAX settings too high

I haven't had much experience with the Lionfiosh kernels, so I'm not entirely sure what that was. I've heard some folks comment about some instabilities, but I haven't confirmed any of those. The Lionfish kernels are just a continuation of the Freedom kernels by Lithid. :)

Make sure you read the OP over at XDA and follow the directions, there are some tweaks necessary to get the thing running right.

I suppose it could if the Smartass V2 governor has issues or it was implemented wrong.

I've just heard lionfish in general has given people some issues.

Update 3 -______- I reread the xda post about a tweak. I didn't put the tweak on this Rom but I found it and that's most likely what interfered with the kernel. I still like the 1.4 because it doesn't have auto brightness tweak he added.

*Sigh* LionFish does NOT like my phone lol. It randomly reboots even on 1.4 and deleting that tweak. I'll just go back the original Aggressive-Freedom.

There's a new SBC kernel in development, that's just in the testing phase right now. Eventually it'll be in full dev, though. It's the only GB Sense kernel that offers SBC, but currently it's only running stock voltages (no undervolting), but that's supposed to be included in the custom version (once it's done).

Is that the kernel that's in your signature?

Yeah I'm excited for that one. Tommy gave him space on his website and I've been trying to follow it ever since.

Can't wait to try that out.

capthrowback..how long have you been running that test sbc? I saw he took it public, any drawbacks to it..no gps, camera probs..etc? being in a low signal environment during work..i NEED this!! LOL

I just flashed it yesterday. I did some additional battery life between 100% and 90%, so it seems that the SBC part is working. I haven't noticed any issues with it (nor should there be any, as it's really just based on the stock GB kernel, with stuff added). It doesn't help with my battery life too much, but I barely get more than 4 hours of battery life on my device, because I refuse to stop using all of the features the device has just because my battery can't handle it.

Yup, I flashed it this afternoon. I saw it this morning and DL'ed it. I flashed it onto the NoLiMit06 Rom. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Hopefully he is able to keep this moving forward. A little bit of GB SBC love is always good.:D

I flashed 2 nights ago..only 1 bootloop so far. I see he put out a "stockish w/ SBC Kernel"..anyone try that compared to this one yet..any difference?

Huge difference between the 2. The test one that came from the saturday thread is his version of a completely custom kernel.

The stock one is a stock kernel with a few minor tweaks + SBC. It has no other governors and cant be over/underclocked

Assuming the test is superior?
