Otterbox and cases

I'm probably gonna be getting an S3 soon, so I'm gonna need a new case. I've always used Otterbox. Only bummer about their cases is it just me or after awhile do they kind of fall apart? After having the phone and case for about the year the case is kind of battered up.

Would a Lifeproof case be better than Otterbox?

If you're getting a year out of a case, I'd say it's doing just fine. I'm not sure how much longer to expect from a piece of plastic/silicone.
I've only used an OB Commuter and found it to be way too big for any phone so I took it off immediately. Can't vouch for a Lifeproof case, but I've heard good things about them from iPhone users.

The cases I usually use are Otterbox Defender. And I didn't know really. I thought they were supposed to last longer then that

All of my devices are in Otterbox Defender cases, and I have yet to experience what you have! Mine look like new and I'm way past a year on one of them. I should add that I'm not very rough on my belongings--so that could have something to do with it. :)

They will replace cases with very little hassle. Getting one sent out for my Note 3. I've had it since they came out for the phone.

They have saved my phones from all kinds of drops and spills.

I have an Otterbox Commuter on my S4 for over a year. On occasion, I remove it to put on the Defender case when I do work around the house. Mines has held up really well.
