Otterbox Commuter fit is terrible for this phone

I want to say that I have had great experiences with Otterbox in the past and their Commuter line of products. They protect well, are slimmer than the Defenders, and always fit securly. So when I got my new Razr M, the first thing that I did was buy an Otterbox Commuter for it. I bought it off an ebay seller new in the box still sealed and saved $15 over direct from Otterbox. Seller was great, it is the product that is suspect. The case barely fits the Razr M. The rubber part goes on and then the plastic just slips over the back with almost no effort required. The plastic at the top of the phone attaches in no way to the rubber and the top half of the plastic back just pulls free of the phone with almost no effort. Simply pulling the phone out of your pants pocket is generally enough to nearly strip the plastic cover off of the case. The plastic at the sides of the bottom of the case do not secure tight against the rubber either and catch on anything that they come in contact with. I don't know if I got a lemon in this particular case or not, but man what a disappointment from a company that I have long loved their product line.

Anyone else have similar fit issues with this case on their Razr M or is this just a one of incident? I might call Otterbox today and see if there is any way that I can get a replacement to try. Not sure given that I bought it off of an ebay seller though.:(

I purchased a new, black commuter for my M, and it fits perfect. no complaints at all. you must have gotten a bad unit. contact otter box, and email them a picture of the otterbox clearly showing the problem, and they will send you a new one.

Am I reading this correctly? You put the rubber part on ......FIRST? With mine the plastic goes on first, then the rubber.

I am going to call them later today and email photos if they want me to. It is a terrible fit. I must have gotten a bad unit.

Yes, the Commuter series, the rubber goes on then the plastic is supposed to tightly fit over it. It is different than how the Defender series works. On mine the plastic seems to be too large for the rubber part. With gaps and edges that snag on everything.

I have the same case and it works great. I drilled a small hole in the plastic part to attach a lanyard to. I keep my phone in my breast pocket and if it falls out when I bend over the lanyard catches it.
