Otterbox: Commuter or Impact Series?

I got the commuter case last week and it is pretty nice. I had an impact case that i retrofitted before they came out for the eris that was pretty nice also. I dont think you will be dissapointed in either of them. The impact does add a little bulk to the phone tho. Was a little more difficult to get in and out of my pocket
 
i like my commuter, the impact is basically a silicone skin right? you can get them or like $3 on ebay.

i was surprised when i got the commuter a bit, it's level of protection seemed a little weak to me, like face protection there is maybe 3/32" lip from the face of the phone to the top of the case....not much, other then that it is wide open as well around the top led's and speaker.

the impact actually IMO looks like MORE protection then the commuter, i agree with karib though, the commuter is a tad better looking.
 
Yeah I thought it was gonna have a little more protection on the front also. All in all it seems sturdy and looks very good. I might give the impact another shot seeing as tho it is made for the eris now. My main concern is dropping and shattering the screen as I have seen in other threads.
 
I actually ordered an impact case from an Ebay Otterbox Authorized reseller for $17.95 plus free s/h. I got the package yesterday and was happy to see they sent me the commuter instead. Not sure if this was a mistake or they ran out of impact and decided to upgrade free. either way, I'm loving the commuter case.

Well, I just ordered the Commuter series off of eBay because I liked the look more that the Impact series. But now I am wondering if I should have gone with more protection vs looks? ;)
